Perpetuity help organisations to identify the weak link in their security and make necessary changes with penetration testing.
Unfortunately, the first indication of a security weakness may be when an incident actually takes place. Even after security managers put a considerable amount of time into developing robust security systems and procedures it can be difficult to identify all weaknesses.
Even where an incident has occurred or a pattern of crime has emerged, the weak link in the chain – be it equipment, procedures or staff – may not be obvious.
Perpetuity’s penetration testing process involves replicating the behaviour of an offender and seeing the extent to which current measures will withstand their activities – computer systems, access control, CCTV, manned guards, store detectives, tagging systems and security alarms are just some of the areas where we have applied this approach.
Our areas of expertise include:
Initial assessment - identifying areas where penetration tests will be most helpful. Scope - establishing what the tests will cover. Format - specifying the way that tests will be conducted and the circumstances in which they will take place. Implementation - conducting the tests. Client learning requirements - producing a report with findings and recommendations in a way that meets the clients' specific needs, and presenting these to different audiences in different ways if required. Filming - recording or photographing tests if appropriate.
A powerful tool in identifying weaknesses of current security systems and procedures, both physical and technical.
In one organisation we conducted twenty different penetration tests and 15 were successful; 12 totally and 3 partially. This enabled the organisation to understand precisely how security was compromised which fed into very specific recommendations on how the risks could best be mitigated.
